Scott Hall

Team Engineer / Crew Chief

Ann Arbor, MI

Scott Hall

Scott and John Jr. first met when Scott signed up to participate in a Legends Car test drive that John Jr. was instructing. Scott and John soon realized that they had a mutual interest in what made race cars work and a friendship quickly developed. That was 11 years ago.

Scott started out helping John Jr. at the race shop and quickly developed an understanding of Legends Cars and Super Late Model Stock Cars.

Over the years Scott’s racing duties with John have evolved into Scott being a Mechanic, Spotter, Tire Specialist, Crew Chief and Team Engineer.

Together Scott and John have won many races in both Legends Cars and Super Late Model Stock Cars and in 2012 Scott was honored as “Crew Chief of the Year” in the Michigan Legends Series.

In 2013 John Jr. moved to 410 Winged and Non-Winged Sprint Car Racing. In the Rookie Season John set 3 fast qualifying times, won 8 Fast Dash races and won 2 Feature events under the guidance of Crew Chief John “Boy” Hotchkiss and the watchful eye of Scott Hall as Team Engineer.  In 2015, Crew Chief was added to Scott's responsibilities.

Away from the track, Scott and his lovely wife Katherine make their home in Ann Arbor where Scott attends the University of Michigan as a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering, studying Electric Space Propulsion.
